” He understands instantly. He takes the dark-gray tailored trousers from the neat pile of his normal clothes and pulls them on. The wool slides over the nylons, catching briefly on the garter tabs. When he fastens the waistband, the trousers ride noticeably higher than usual—almost too short. The red stockings peek out two or three centimeters below the hems the moment he shifts his weight. The garter belt presses four small, betraying ridges through the thin fabric. The white satin blouse shimmers beneath the jacket; the bra silhouette becomes visible with every movement of his arms.
